Cookie Policy

Last Updated: October 2, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how UW Hockey Shop uses cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage. We only use non-essential cookies if you agree to them. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Local storage works in a similar way. Both let a site remember things between pages or visits.

2. Essential Storage (Always On)

These are needed for the shop to work, so they do not require consent:

• Shopping cart: the products, free gift and protection plan in your cart.
• Currency and language: the currency and language you chose.
• Cookie choice: remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we don't ask again on every page.
• Discount link: keeps a discount from a reminder email active until checkout.
• Pop-up status: stops the same pop-up from showing twice.
• Login and security: keeps you signed in where an account is used, and protects payments against fraud (set by our payment provider, Revolut, during checkout).

3. Analytics Cookies (Only With Your Consent)

• PostHog (EU hosting): recognises returning visitors, records anonymised sessions and builds heatmaps so we can see where the site is confusing. Text typed into forms is masked, and uploaded photos are never recorded.
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: visit statistics. These scripts do not load at all until you accept.

4. Without Your Consent

If you reject cookies, or have not chosen yet, we still count page visits and shop steps anonymously with PostHog. This uses no cookies and no storage on your device, and your visits cannot be linked together.

DataFast, a visit-statistics tool we are phasing out, also counts visits.

5. Changing Your Choice

Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or reject analytics cookies again. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Rejecting analytics cookies has no effect on shopping or checkout.

6. More Information
